Nicaragua lake ( Cocibolca ) is the biggest lake in Central America 200km long x 130km wide.
Rio San Juan ( 220km long to the Caribean Sea ) start at the southern end of great lake..
We operate , both in Nicaragua and Costa Rica, in an area witch include the border towns of Los Chiles Costa Rica and San Carlos Nicaragua also in the Lake Omotepe, Solentiname, El Castillo , Till the end of Rio San Juan at San Juan del Norte in Nicaragua.

Local Airport of San Carlos is only 5 mn away from Fishing Lodge, with two daily flights over the great Lake( 55mn from Managua
Access is also by boat ( 45 mn ) from Los Chiles (Costa Rica) to San Carlos via Jungle River of Rio Frio

2) Arriving at International airport of San Jose Costa Rica
Transfer is done in one of my car, RANGE ROVER ( Party maximum of 4 ) or van/Buzetta if larger party ( Up to 12 ) 4 hours of a scenic drive via the mountains of Sarcero, the coffee, Sugar cane plantation, orange Grove...The Poas and Arenal Volcanoes to Los Chiles, then entry by boat to Nicaragua San Carlos via Rio Frio Jungle River.
NOTE: It is also possible to enter via Nicaragua and go via Costa Rica ( or Vice versa ) so you will see the two countries...( You will have to buy an " Open jaws " ticket from your airline company.)
Location: Why Los Chiles /San Carlos?
Since 20 years I am a resident in Central America, I have been fishing around almost every kind of "Tropical fish" in salt and fresh water Inshore/Offshore...
Fifteen years ago I went for the first time to Los Chiles in the Northern Zone of Costa Rica, was in the dry season, place was full of Alligators, Gars. Tarpon were rolling everywhere.....
In 1997 I went back there, in Los Chiles but also that time entered Nicaragua via Rio Frio to reach San Carlos small town located on the banks of San Juan River and Nicaragua Lake...
Fishing has been so great on Rio San Juan than I went back there and went back enjoying also the Jungle Scenery, Wild life, Bird watching, Arts, History and making friends on the river banks... and finally I decided to create a fishing operation there in 1998 ,San Carlos Sport fishing was born.. In 2003 I bough my land at the Corner of the Lake where San juan River Start and in 2004 I opened my Fishing lodge "La Esquina Del Lago".
Fishing is good all year round on Rio San Juan , Tarpon ( Sabalo ) 80lb/250lb+, Snook ( Robalo ) 14lb 30lb are usual catch...
I also report the presence of trophy size Rainbow bass ( Lagunero ), Aligator and Tropical Gar ( Gaspar ), Machaca, Mojara, Drums ( Roncador )
