Example of itinerary Arriving in San Jose Costa Rica

7 Days fishing trip,  6 nights, 5 days Fishing

 All include with Stay at La Esquina del Lago  $2447  per Angler ( 2 Guests )

All include with all option Stay at La Esquina, Sabalo, El Castillo, solentiname  $ 2587 per Angler( 2 Guests )

Day1  Arriving at San Jose Juan Santamaria  International Airport  Costa Rica  Jose, Mauren or Sarah will wait for you there ( With a sign your name on )

If your fly come in before 1 pm we may decide to go directly to Los Chiles this same day so you will have even more time fishing as we will be able to start at 9am on day2 ( In such a case we will have our dinner, In Los Chiles we will stay at Ecodirecta Lodge Rancho Tulipan , or El Gaspar Lodge , or Cabinas El Jabiru...

If your fly come in the morning before 10 am I recommend unless you definitely wish to see San Jose... to go directly to Los Chiles and this same day enter Nicaragua.This first night will be at my Lodge La Esquina del Lago

On this first day it can also be transfer to Hotel  in San Jose if you want to enjoy the Fun Night Life of the capital of Costa Rica ...it can be  Hotel Del Rey ,Presidente, or Santo Thomas...  If on the contrary you wish a very quiet place we will go at a charming place DON BETO bed & breakfast in Sarcero mountains.( 6000 feet ) (On this first day dinner is not include as experience show than guest prefer this part open... all depend what you wish ... there is a lot  of very nice restaurant in town and very fairly  priced... ) 

 

Day2   Tarpon fishing
Early morning Transfer to Los Chiles in our car RANGE ROVER ( Up to 4 Persons ) or in a larger Van, (3.30 / 4 hours ride ) thought beautiful scenery, Mountains, Waterfall, Arenal and Poas active volcanoes, Coffee and sugar cane plantations.. typical Local breakfast, Arriving in Los Chiles around 11am  . Boat will be ready and waiting for us at Los Chiles Pier After Immigration process we will enter Nicaragua via Jungle River of Rio Frio.

In San Carlos Nicaragua We will  put your Luggage at our new Guest House ,will have a quick lunch ( You will probably be please to try the local "Bao" ) fishing will start around 11 am/12 md or even earlier if you decide to have lunch aboard. In San juan river it would be a major surprise for me if you have to wait long before the first tarpon hit, fishing will stop at dark. We will have our Dinner in town at  restaurant EL MIRADOR , you will rest in your comfortable room in our lodge with Private bathroom  

On this same day we may also decide to immediately go down river while fishing , and spend the Night in the new Lodge in Saballo..( Additional cost of $ 25 per person per night and $80 globally for the boat for gas... ) .or at Monte Cristo Resort 

Day 3 Tarpon fishing

Breakfast at Lodge  and Fishing will start at 6/7 am , Lunch aboard , or at the house of a friend of us in the jungles of Medio quesso. We will probably fish a bit there in this so beautiful jungle river, it's almost clear and very deep , some huge tarpon live there... Dinner will be in our new San Carlos Guest House   or at Saballo Lodge or Clarissa Restaurant if we are fishing around Saballo Rodal del Toro...

 

Day4   Tarpon fishing

 Breakfast at Lodge  and Fishing will start at 6/7 am , lunch aboard  or at the house of a friend of us in the jungles of Medio quesso. We will probably fish a bit there in this so beautiful jungle river, it's almost clear and very deep , some huge tarpon live there... Dinner in our new San Carlos Guest House  or at Saballo Lodge or Clarissa Restaurant if we are fishing around Saballo Rodal del Toro...or in our new San Carlos Guest House ( From September 2003 )

 

Day5   Tarpon fishing

 Program will be almost the same than on Day4 .Note: We also may decide on Day 3 or  4 to spend the night in ALBERGUE El CASTILLO down on San Juan River ( Good fishing here also. A close town is called Saballo witch mean Tarpon in Spanish... and a lot of history, the large fortress on top of the hill has been built to protect the Nicaragua lake/Granada from pirates attacks ).

We also may go to the beautiful Solentiname archipelagon ( located in the lake, 40 mn by boat from San Carlos, more than 100 islands ) fishing is famous there for Rainbow bass , .We would stay at Hotel Mancaron, hotel Paraiso   or at the Famous Hospedage of the comunity founded by Ernesto Cardenal

Option1 Solentiname.. in case you decide for solentiname option please add $ 60 globally for boat extra gas and $ 25 per person if Overnight

Option2 El Castillo,  $ 25 per person for overnight, $ 40 for the boat extra gaz if coming from San Carlos, $40 if coming from Castillo)

 

Day6  Tarpon fishing or Rainbow bass Fishing in Solentiname

Another full day Fishing around San Carlos or Solentiname or El Castillo , we will decide together

 

Day7  1/2 Day Fishing

Breakfast fish early morning close to San Carlos , then enter in Costa Rica transfer  to San Jose for your flight back.  

Option Early morning fishing, Breakfast. Transfert to San Carlos Airport, Fly  to Managua, for connecting your international flight.( In such a case you should ask Your international Airline for an OPEN JAWS TICKET, Entry by San Jose Costa Rica , Departure Managua Nicaragua....all major companies: American, Continental, Delta, Taca do offer this service.
